Mornings That Lead to Wonder & Joy

“I’m so sick of running as fast as I can…”

This song hit my playlist as I was in the shower this morning (TMI, I know!) and I felt it in my soul. If you’re a Swiftie like me, you know the name of this song and all that comes with these words. But this morning, it wasn’t about equality. It was a reminder of how unhealthy it is to constantly stay focused on getting more and more and more things accomplished. This morning, I felt the words of this song with a sense of deep gratitude. Gratitude for the shifts that I’ve made over time and for the shifts that I continue to make.

Just the other day, as Alex and I were planning the upcoming virtual Purposeful Gathering Early Childhood, Reflections of Wonder & Joy – A Cozy Time to Restore & Replenish, we had this wonderful conversation about the slow and purposeful ways that we ground ourselves each morning. We noticed that parts of our morning routines or rituals are similar while others are quite different, because we are different people. The foundation of our conversation was the value in making an almost sacred space for these routines, whether they take 10 minutes or more than an hour, so that we can bring our best selves to the rest of the day. I want to be my best self and I know how much we both benefit mentally, physically, and emotionally from these practices. Because of that, we are each going to share a few more details on January 19 during our event, and engage everyone in the process of considering their best morning wellness practices. When you join us, whether it is live on Zoom or later through the recorded version, you will end the gathering with your own short (or longer) ritual to implement (and adjust) the very next day! Please notice that I didn’t say that you will leave with “ideas.” You will end the retreat with an actual plan custom designed for yourself, with the benefit of the collective contributions from our amazing community.

During Reflections of Wonder & Joy, we will take that one step further. Further to a place where you imagine incorporating a slower, more purposeful entry or morning ritual with the children in your life – whether they live with you or they enter your program door each day.

I know that you have routines, but what if they came from a place of infusing coziness, comfort, grounding and gratitude practices?

What small shifts could change the atmosphere for the rest of the day?

What small practices will promote wonder and joy in your body and in your work?

This is one small part of the greater magic that will happen on January 19. Will you join us?

Early Bird pricing (and the Retreat Kit full of everything you need and some great gifts) available through January 5, 2024!
