Proposed Experiences North Central Italy

The Frame

May 12-18, 2024

Italy’s Adriatic Coast

A week on the Adriatic will find you living educational opportunities along the coast of Italy’s Marche Region in towns such as Fano, Pesaro and Chiaravalle.

A. Gallizi” early childhood center, Fano
Housed within an old nunnery, this is a school where teachers get to focus on their passions and where children are free to move about, choosing where to stay and play.

Tactile Omero museum, Ancona
This is the only museum in the world where art comes into contact with touch, sight and thinking, and elicits feelings of wonder.

We take care of the space and the objects around us because everyone deserves beauty. Beautiful things don’t become waste.

I Tigili of Cavriago, Italy

North-Central Italy

Throughout our 2nd week, we will journey to the heart. To Reggio Emilia, Cavriago, and the beautiful countryside that brings us balsamic vinegar, parmigiano reggiano cheese, lambrusco wine and more!

“Le betulle” and “I Tigli”, early childhood centers, Cavriago
Here we return as friends. It matters not whether you have been here before or it is your first visit. It is here that we live the life of the school, sharing the space, asking our questions, and laughing alongside the children and educators. The infant toddler and early childhood centers of Cavriago have invited an exchange of ideas with our project since 2010.

Le betulle

Loris Malaguzzi International Centre, Reggio Emilia
A space to explore and time for growth. We will pursue opportunities for independent exploration, presentations from educational consultants, participation within the ateliers, share a meal, and encounter the bookstore.

Il Multiplo, public library, playing and art center, Cavriago
A cultural center, a public library, a school of music, a meeting place, and a community hub. It is a place where the librarians do not tell you “shush!” A place where you can study and feel as if you are outside in the garden. Where you can sit comfortably in an armchair to read or chat with friends. A place where every age and every people have the same importance. We will first explore, then experience, within their atelier!

Remida, the creative recycling center, Reggio Emilia
cultural project focused on sustainability, creativity, and research on waste materials. It fosters the idea that waste materials, the imperfect, are holders of an ethical message, able to stir reflections, which aim to be an educational resource, thus avoiding the definition of “useless” and “waste”.

The Everywhere Atelier, Everywhere
It is not about where. Meaningful processes can happen anywhere! The Everywhere Atelier focused sessions and workshops will include guided opportunities to explore paper, clay, materials found in nature, conversations with professionals, and even taste.

Speaking of Taste…
Consider this experience a journey of taste. An opportunity to savor. From a seaside dinner to pizza under the stars. Through a lunch infused with food and conversation to coffee, aperitivo, and pastry breaks. Balsamic and parmesan cheese tasting? Yes! All of this is included! You can anticipate approximately 3 group lunches, 3 group dinners, all breakfasts (provided by the hotels), and several tastings and beverage breaks.
