Savoring Fall

Did you know that purposefully savoring an experience brings added joy? Taking the time to pause, notice, and appreciate is good for you! You can savor in anticipation, in the moment, and afterwards.

Sometimes capturing a beautiful moment in photos allows me to savor more than once – as long as I don’t miss the moment because I’m behind that phone or camera!

Yesterday, I went on one of my short, 1mile walks down our road. November 1 in the tip top of the mitten was sunny, calm, and just warm enough to wear only a vest! The sun set during my walk and the calmness of the lake drew me over to the shore. The reflections on the water were breathtaking. Just take a look at that photo where the water was so calm that it stood in the in-between, seamlessly connecting the sand ripples on the bottom to the golden reflection of the sky and clouds! Such peace!

So I’m wondering, do you think you have a preference between anticipatory, present, or past savoring? And if you’re willing, what is something that you’ve savored recently or that you’re savoring right now?
